Again ? And again ? And Again!! Miss Venezuela was crowned Miss Universe on J's bday!
Contestants from Venezuela are ALWAYS super gorgeous! I used to watch "Miss Universe" around the time Aishwarya-Sushmita bagged their respective crowns! And ever since then I have (am sure millions others too) noticed that the Venezuelan contenders are by far the prettiest! :) To say nothing of their suave accent (when they do not appoint translators)!
There HAS to be something magical in the South American waters!! Seriously... after all my little cousins are half South American and they are super duper cute! :) :) They possess the genes of two vastly different gene pools; both of which have bagged the most crowns!! Here they are... my adorable hybrids! :) :)
PS: The older one resembles our grandma - Shama ajji... a 'photoshopped' copy!
On the fifteenth I turned 26 and sadly am still very clueless!! Sigh! Age it seems brings along with it maturity and sense!! I am still waiting on either one of them!!!!!
Honestly after slogging in the ruthless gym for more than a month I ended up feasting all day! As if that was not enough I indulged... in this rich ice cream cake... the "cookies and cream" center was enveloped by a layer of super rich truffle cake and topped with chocolate! It was fit for the Gods and probably intended for them alone considering that how little calories affect them!!
The Web dictionary defines August as someone befitting a lord! And royal indeed are people born in this month. Not if by heritage, then in their attitude, or appearances, or gestures, or perspectives or actions! But never are they mundane... a person born in this month can be picked out in a crowd because of manifestation of one or more of the above attributes. Ofcourse some negative traits that dull his demeanor are dogmatism, constant domination or patronizing attitudes! Leos are unmistakably loyal creatures and never hesitate to roar when they feel the need to! As you might have guessed rightly, I am a Leo and am happy that my month of the year is finally here! What better way to start the month than with a weekend!
The first weekend in August obviously reminded me of my birthday! Yippee.... I still harbor the juvenile excitement that kids enjoy! Oops.. I digressed again... moving on... the first weekend of August jump started with the series 24..I recently discovered this series and I am soooooooooo hooked! It is quite addictive and I am convinced that I will need to finish watching all 7 seasons before I can stop watching it! Either I run out of episodes to watch or I take the 12 step program to quit my addiction! 24 is a superbly written series with 'unpredictability' as its only plot. The series stars ‘Kiefer Sutherland’ as Jack Bauer who is head of CTU; a counter terrorist unit in LA. Jack is a ruthless, committed patriot who goes to any extent to serve his country. Kiefer Sutherland is also known to have lend his voice to multiple animation movies... he definetly has a very distinctive voice, very very sauve! Most of you must have seen the movie "Phone Booth". Sutherland played the caller and it was his voice that terrorized the main lead! '24' series deals with terrorist attempts on US and Jack’s actions to stop them. Each season features a single day and has 24 episodes, one each for the 24 hours of the fateful day! The episodes are shot to have taken place in real time and portray the impossible decisions and actions Jack takes each hour to resolve the crises and free his country from the clutches of madmen...who are sometimes of foreign origin or Ameircans with their own hidden agenda. The hindi movie “Dus” starring Sanjay Dutt was remade from this series and they managed to capture only 20% of the series’s magic and power packed drama. A MUST WATCH for all those viewers who enjoy fast past thrillers and suspense movies!
The same weekend...My friends S & S moved to their first house and I was thinking of them the entire day, wishing I was in Dallas to share the moment and help ofcourse! Over this weekend, I also saw “Love Aaj Kal”. As A has aptly put it in her post it was “so-so” ... so I went home disappointed! I abs. loved Socha Na Tha and Jab We Met... so I had high expectations from Imitiaz Ali and he kind of let me down! But no worries... apart from Saif trying too hard to be hep and popular and Deepika attempting to look sexy.... the story was unoriginal and completely predictable. I honestly do not have patience left to sit through a movie where I already know what the next scene or ending is going to be! Besides, I think Rishi Kapoor kept me more entertained that the rest. Pointers for Deepika... lose your stiff body language when you are trying to be a seductress... you are no longer on the ramp and your body needs to convey the dialogue as well! So after the very average movie, we headed back home where I could not wait to get back to Jack Bauer! Yes.. I mean the main lead of the series 24...
